Tour a 10-Acre Forest Garden & Plant Trees

You are invited to come help plant trees, spread mulch and provide care to some of the plants in a 10-acre research forest garden. Now entering its 3rd year, this project of Forested, LLC is one of the region's largest forest gardens, with an emphasis on staple tree crops such as Acorns, Chestnuts, Hickories, Walnuts and Pecans, together with many varieties of fruit and soil-building plants.

*Take a tour of a large young forest garden
*Learn the best planting techniques for growing success
*Receive a list of the most suitable species for Mid-Atlantic forest gardens *Meet people with similar interests in forest gardening and permaculture

Facilitators will provide training in tree planting and mulching methods. The work day will include a tour of the forest garden and interested participants can receive a list of forest garden plants.
