What is spring in DC without seeing the cherry blossoms? I have gone every year to see them and had so much fun. There are a number of different events we can go to depending on what people want. I highly recommend the paddle boats in the basin as long as you don't fall in the water. We could go to a restaurant or have a picnic (picnic may be better if the weather is good). Also there is a concert we can go to (http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/2014/01/28/winners-of-sing-into-spring-competition-announced/) or they usually have a parade if anyone is interested. There is a lot more, so check out the website and let me know if there is something else you think would be good: http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/. The festival goes from March 20, 2014 to April 13, 2014 (despite what it says below because Meet Up doesn't like events longer than 2 weeks). When we get closer to the spring, they will post on the website the "peak" day for when the blossoms will look their best. Maybe we can decide when to go based on that.
