Wachusett Sunset Hike Every Wednesday.

This is going to be a weekly scheduled hike every Wednesday. The start time is based on sunset. The goal is to arrive at the summit for sunset and be back on Administration Rd before full darkness. This is a moderate difficult hike and we will keep a pace everyone in the group is comfortable with. You should always bring Water bug spray and a light. Hike will go rain or shine, no penalty for anyone that bails out on a rainy day. The start will always be at the base of administration road which is off Westminster Rd. I'll change up the route each week so it doesn't get stale. Each hikes total duration will be 2-2.5 hours. Any questions, suggestions or complaints direct to me.

Russell

Directions : Follow Mountain Rd. about a mile past the Visitors Center/Auto Rd. to Westminster Rd. Westminster Rd. will be on your right, just after the Fernside B&B (Yellow building on your left)
Continue down Westminster Rd. about 3/8 mile, Trail head on your right at the bottom of Administration Rd.

I'd love to join but wouldn't consider myself a moderate-difficult hiker. Will you be doing hikes that would be more like beginner to moderate? I'm in good shape but haven't hiked in awhile. Thanks!

I only lead this hike and may add some 4000 footers. We have a few other leaders but I don't know what their plans are. This is not a very difficult hike anyone in decent shape can manage. I'm in bad shape and so it daily

Russell I consider myself in shape. But I am more of a newbie hiker. I would like to join but would it be too intense for the novice hiker?

You should be fine it's not a very intense hike.

This weeks hike will be Echo Lake Trail to High Meadow Trail to Bicentennial Trail and up on Pine hill. We'll return on Harrington.

Please remember this is an intermediate hike. I'd like to keep it as such so new people feel welcome and aren't intimidated by pace. We hike as a group and should be stopping at intersections for everyone to catch up.
