Join us at Cedar Rock Farm for a mushroom cultivation workshop utilizing local wood! This workshop will cover techniques for growing mushrooms on logs, totems, stumps, and woodchip beds. We will discuss methods of finding and preparing materials for inoculation, different methods and tools used for inoculation, and how to fruit the mushrooms!
Mushroom species involved:
-Shiitake -Oyster -Elm oyster – Wine Cap, Garden Giant -Maitake
Once these techniques are demonstrated students will get an opportunity to implement them at Cedar Rock Farm. This will ensure they can replicate these methods when they leave the workshop. Participants will get to take an inoculated log home with them and have an option to purchase spawn at a discounted rate.
