What instruments do you play? Do you sing?

I play fiddle, mandolin, mandola, guitar, tenor guitar and tenor banjo. I am proud to say that I have progressed to the point I no longer scare the cat...although, at 15, he may have simply gone deaf. I can sing a bit, keep decent rhythm, play mostly in tune and observe good jam etiquette.

How would you describe your style?

I enjoy playing old timey music, bluegrass, cajun, folk, western swing, celtic, classic rock - pretty much anything if I can figure out how to play it.

What musicians are your inspiration?

Tim O'Brien, Johnny Gimble, Jay Ungar, Del McCoury, Chris Hillman, John Hartford, Guy Clark, Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Brown, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Beatles.

How long have you been picking?

8 Years

What neighborhood/ suburbs do you live in?

North Center / Roscoe Village

Introduction

I started playing fiddle and mandolin about 8 years ago (I was 51). Never too late! I have been practicing guitar for about a year, mostly playing chords and rhythm to accompany my singing. It is time to get out and play with others.
