This is the last Snowshoeing Hike that I will host this Winter!!!
THIS SNOWSHOEING HIKE BEGINS AT THE GATE AT DEER CREEK AT 10:00 AM
Be there 15 minutes early to get ready for this snowshoeing hike.
There are avalanches in the Ice Cave area, we will not be going right up to the Ice Caves!
This is snowshoeing up the Mountain Loop Highway to the Big Four Ice Caves Picnic area than up the trail to the Ice Cave area. There are restrooms at the Picnic area.
Length: 6.5 Miles Round Trip
Hiking Time: 3.5 to 4 hours
Elevation Gain: 250 feet
Map: Green Trails: Silverton No. 110
Parking Pass: Northwest Forest Pass required, for each car.
Cancellations: If you end up having to cancel, please do so no later than 24 hours before the hikes starting time. This will allow someone on the waiting list to move up automatically and the hikes Host will be notified you're not attending the hike. For additional infomation see Files; in the More tab.
Carpooling: Please Step Up and Drive a Carpool. Everyone needs to take turns with driving carpools. Email your cell phone number to carpooling members, don't post it on the hike site. For additional infomation see Carpooling Guidelines; in the Pages tab.
Driving Directions: From Granite Falls drive east on Mountain Loop Highway about 12 miles past the Verlot Public Service Center to the end of the plowed road. Park in the cleared pullout area on the north side of the highway. There are restrooms at the Verlot Public Serice Center.
