Welcome & thank you for checking out the Northwest Hikers 50 Plus Meetup group!

As our name suggests, we enjoy hiking with fun, friendly folks who are part of the “Baby Boomer" generation. Remember… age is just a number!! The Pacific Northwest offers an abundance of opportunities to enjoy the beauty of nature. Our group’s primary objective is to experience this beauty while having fun hiking with like-minded friends. We focus on safety, courtesy/patience, and member involvement. Our hikes vary in difficulty and reflect the diversity of our membership, which include novice and seasoned hikers alike. The pace we set is comfortable enough to enjoy our surroundings as well as allow for visiting with our fellow hikers. We are not the fastest hikers on the trail and encourage each member to assess their own fitness level prior to participating in our more challenging hikes. The bottom line is that we achieve each hike’s goal as a group, assuring no one is left behind. Our calendar typically includes some non-hiking activities and Organizers are always happy to assist members in posting/facilitating events that may be of interest to the group.

We charge a $5 per year membership fee to cover the expenses associated with maintaining the website as well as misc. costs associated with group events (picnics/potlucks, etc.) We are but one of the many good hiking Meetup groups to choose from in the Puget Sound area so, to assure our group is the right fit for you, prior to requesting membership please take a moment to review our list of current & past meetups.  You can find them by scrolling down this page.  To view more, you can click on "See all past meetups", then "More Meetups" at the bottom of each page.
