Join Northeast Ohio Adventures meetup for A Day at Presque Isle S.P.

Northeast Ohio Adventure Group is coming to Presque Isle. I thought it may be fun to meetup with some of them.

Park admission and parking: FREE

Bring your bike or rollerblades and meet at the Niagra Boat Launch and picnic area. It will be on your right at around 2 miles after you enter the park, past the Ranger Station and a small field.

I estimate that the time for riding the entire paved trail around the perimeter of the park, figuring in stops for investigations and photos, will be around 2 hours. It will only be about 16 miles total, but I plan to roll along at a leisurely pace. So somewhere around noon, we will be back at Niagra p.a. for our potluck picnic.

Following lunch we are on our own to revisit a beach or spot that we scoped out by bike. Possibilities include:

Swimming Beaches are open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Boating around the lagoons. Presque Isle Canoe and Boat Livery, on Graveyard Pond across from Misery Bay, has canoes and 15 kayaks to rent... (or bring your own).
Sand volleyball Beach 6 has 8 volleyball courts.
Hiking There are a couple of short trails here that might be worth exploring.
There is also a scenic boat tour that departs from the Perry monument 4 times during the day. [masked]

Park map:

Snacks and drinking water for the day. There are also concession stands at some of the beaches, and water fountains placed at intervals throughout the park.
One food item to share with the group; I suggest something simple that isn't required to be heated. (although there are a couple of small grills there.)
Sun screen and sun glasses.
Your bike or rollerblades
[1-speed "yellow bikes" are available for rent nearby at $10 for 1 hour, $15 for 2 hours, and $3 for each additional hour, with a $20 deposit. They also rent tandems, surreys and adult trikes, and rollerblades.]

I go up there all the time, they have multiple beaches and beach 6 has a great selection of sand volleyball courts. They have charcoal stoves at at least that beach as well for a cook out. There's an amusement park right at the entrance called waldermere about $25 entrance fee.

I dont think so Melinda, I think we are just meeting up with them somewhere specific and then let the group know whats available and see what they want to do. I just reposted their info. I think we will be meeting up at 1030.
