Day hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, birding, skiing, backpacking, camping....did I miss any?
Top 5: A grueling 20+ mi on the AT from Tye River to Humpback with a stomach flu. It's up there because "it almost kicked by butt but didn't"! The views, the weather, and the friendships were incredible. Kayaking up silently on 2 deer browsing on some spadderdock at PI. They kept lifting their heads to check me out but since I was downwind they weren't scared off. I sat and shook with laughter trying not to make a sound. It was incredible. Peddling the SJ Trail from Franklin to the Kennerdell Tunnel only to get to the entrance and discover my headlamp had a dying battery! Not to be deterred I managed to follow the silhouette of my friend. When we stopped to take in the place his headlamp shown on some graffiti that read (and I am not making this up!) "Get out now before he murders you!" An amazing 8-day canoe portage trip on the Boundary Waters. And My first winter backpacking trip, waking up after a 22 degree night to snowflakes the size of ping pong balls. Just gorgeous.
Keep having fun!
