The exciting sport of pickleball has been spreading far and wide throughout the Delaware Valley. Notable enclaves of activity can be found in Downingtown, Phoenixville, Cherry Hill, Huntingdon Valley, and Langhorne, to name a few. For the last two years, pickleball players have been flocking to Mt. Airy and recently Chestnut Hill to learn the game , enjoy spirited competition, and bask in a camaraderie that has become a hallmark of the sport. Conceived as a family-oriented sport near Seattle in the mid-sixties, pickleball is a staple in school gym classes around the country, but has become most popular amongst the 55+ active adult population. All ages find the sport easy-to-learn and loads of fun. Our group has welcomed beginners who have never picked up a racquet (or paddle), serious tournament players who have ventured as far as WA, AZ, and UT for competition, and all levels in between. Check us out.
