NW WA Wine Tasters is a group dedicated to giving people the opportunity to explore and expand their interest, knowledge, and passion for wine through local wine shops and vineyards right here in the Pacific Northwest. The primary focus of the group will be to participate in wine tastings throughout the Greater Bellingham region, and eventually hope to explore some other activities such as making our own wine, wine and food pairings, and wine festivals.

My husband and I decided to create this group when we recently relocated to Bellingham. We looked to Meetup.com as a source to get reconnected to our community and we thought what better way to meet our new neighbors and expand our network then through our passion for wines.

In organizing this group it is important for you to know that we are not wine snobs or connoisseurs. We've done wine tasting along the California Coast as well as enjoyed the occasional weeknight Two Buck Chuck from Trader Joes. I don't consider myself particularly knowledgeable when it comes to wine but I hope for this Meetup Group to be an exciting new way to learn more about wines, support local businesses in the wine industry, meet new people, and have fun doing it.

So, even if you don't know the difference between a Pinot Noir and a Pinot Grigio, you should still feel welcome and encouraged to join this group. As is the case with wine, variety makes this group all the more interesting! The only limitation is you must be over 21.
