Food Swap

  • No location was chosen

  • According to Food Swap Network, a food swap is a recurring event where members of a community share homemade, homegrown, or foraged foods with each other. Swaps allow direct trades to take place between attendees, e.g., a loaf of bread for a jar of pickles or a half-dozen backyard eggs. These events are a delicious way to diversify the homemade foods in your own pantry while getting to know members of your local food community.

BTW, I would be interested in participating in NWI Preppers swap because of the different focus that this group has versus the NWI Food Swap group. Not sure if I can attend this date, but hope to! :)

I encourage other groups to do joint ventures with us! I also hang out with Live Free and the Libertarian Group, as well as others. I love meeting people and finding things we have in common.
I will try to think of a free place to do this. How many people does it need to accommodate? I love homemade stuff. I also like store crap now and then. But, we need to have a system in place, say , if the stores are cleaned out during an "event". Or, know how to make this stuff yourself. Canning anything today will prevent price inflation later It's good to learn from others!

Thank you, Mary. This Is for the NWI Food Swap I was telling you about when we met. If you found a space to accommodate at least 20 people, that would be great. I appreciate it so much. The organizer of the NWI Food Swap is Toni, her website is NWIFoodswap.com. I have her permission to post this and find more interested parties and make the Swap grow. I am looking forward to finding more people interested and swapping with you all.

I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, but there is a group called NWI Food Swap that has been hosting swaps since March. They've had mixed success, but it's a wonderful group of folks interested in sharing their culinary talents with others. The website is http://www.nwifoodswap.com/ They're considering having a swap in early Dec., but it's tentative. Warmly, Christine

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
