This group is for learning, teaching and sharing ideas about disaster preparedness, be it natural or man made. With an extremely shaky economy, depletion of our natural resources and a myriad of other exposures that may interfere with our current way of life, skills such as food & water storage, sanitation, security, self defense, shelter, etc. will have tremendous value. To this end, we hold informational seminars, coordinate group buys, a book club, attend and sponsor workshops. The group is the Northwest Indiana affiliate of American Preppers Network (APN) on the national level.

Please know we are not a hardcore ex military tactical/survival experts. We are just learning along with everyone else. The goal is to create a community network of like minded individuals who share their knowledge of all things related to self sufficiency. This covers a broad range of topics but it all boils down to establishing a network of folks to share ideas with, learn from and eventually hope to trust should the need arise.
