Speakers:
Tom Crinson (@MrJaba) - Ruby 2.0
Bio:
Tom's been a Ruby developer for 6 years now, starting off with Rails and then learning everything he could get his hands on with Ruby. Tom was the founder of IPRUG (Ipswich Ruby User Group), he's run Railscamps and presented at LRUG too. You could say, he know's what he's talking about.
The talk: Run for the hills, Ruby 2.0 is coming! It's coming along with some interesting new features too, some dangerous and crazy, some really handy, some you'll wonder why they weren't in there from the start. Tom will give us an overview about each of the new features, explain how they can be useful or not and if we're really lucky, he'll also talk to us about the new garbage collection algorithm!
Had a really good time, really enjoyed meeting you all and talking to you. Do keep in touch!

Great talk. Interesting to hear about the lazy implementation and module prepends. Also enjoyed the social after.

An excellent talk from Tom Crinson on changes to Ruby, and some of the thinking behind them. The talk was very clear, even to a Ruby n00b like me. Everyone was friendly, really knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Ruby.
