So part of the reason you guys filled out those tedious questions upon joining was for me to selfishly gain ideas on places and activities to explore that hadn't made my "must see" list. And the great discovery is that you are all on similar wavelengths as I...so we'll be getting tons of outdoor, national park, wine, food, festival, sports etc. events on the calendar for our adventurous crew to partake in.
Heh, but admittedly it is a tall order for one mere mortal to accomplish :-). Work does pull me away from a bunch of fun opportunities that I hate to not see offered. And my vision for our group is to have a calendar full of events that you guys can choose from based upon your exploration whims on any given day.
Which is all to say, I'm recruiting event organizers (Meetup likes to call you "assistant organizers. I prefer the term, "Lifesavers" :-). Am thrilled some of you have expressed an interest in organizing (thank you!!), and thought I'd gather us together to meet and perhaps explain how easy the process is for those who have not breezed through it before.
Let's meet for brunch at Eggspectation (checking it out to see about future brunch events here) mostly for food, but also for information. This is a no pressure information providing event, as I know event planning/attendance is all about your free (ha!) time and availability.
We'll run another of these in the New Year for those who cannot attend, and attendance is far from required to run events. We can always chat in a non-brunch environment :-)
The restaurant has 3 TVs running to keep us up to speed on our NFL must sees. That said, please comment if you would normally be raptly watching the Ravens (or another) game at 1 pm as the time is flexible. I am all about fan loyalty (says the chick who scheduled trivia night to conflict with her 'skins. It's a sports bar...we'll be keeping tabs :-) and we can absolutely adjust the time and location with group vote.

PS. Turns out, Eggspectation doesn't take reservations unless we reserve their private room, so I will keep this event unlimited. Still, because it is a smaller venue, I would be *very* appreciative if you kept your RSVPs up to date :-)
