Announcing a new Meetup for Not Your Ordinary Singles Group!

What: BBQ potluck picnic - Italian Style - Saturday Oct 2nd @ 2pm

When: Saturday, October 2, 2010 2:00 PM

Where: Warner Ranch Park
21901 Marylee St.
Woodland Hills, CA 91367

Did this a couple weeks back, and was a huge success. I'll bring my bbq to the park and tables. Think "quality" bbq... NO burgers, hot dogs or chips please! Again NO CHIPS!! ...or I'll throw YOU to my dog and he can eat you! j/k.

Mixing it up this time!! Think ITALIAN Flair and flavor. Ravioli, pasta, lasagne, etc. I have a side burner and frying pans to re-heat sauces, etc.

Where: The exact address is 21901 Marylee Street, Woodland Hills, CA 91367.

We will be ON Marylee St., right smack in the middle of the block, close to the curb under some very tall trees.

In addition to the items below, at bare minimum you'll need to bring a lawn chair or towel to sit on.

Below is THE Menu, and is pretty simple, things that cook fast on the grill. If you sign up, please include which of the follow item/s you will bring:

A. Meats - what works best on the bbq is Italian Sausage (the small coiled type or the sweet sausage with or without fennel), Tri tip, cross rib (thin) & sirloin steaks, carne asada (skirt steak), lamb chops, chicken breasts (no drumsticks or thighs please.. takes too long to cook), salmon or shark, pork loin. Bring it raw. I'll have seasoning if you don't want to fuss with it.

B. Veggies - whole onions, portobello and button mushrooms, zucchini, asparagus, etc. Pizza toppings as well (mozarella & feta cheese, olives, etc.)

C. Salad - iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, walnuts, shredded carrot, feta or blue cheese, and salad dressing... ranch, blue cheese, italian

D. Bread - pita bread, sourdough or other bread rolls

E. Side dishes - PASTA dishes... if you put it in a ceramic bowl or aluminum pan, I can re-heat it. Cooked rice is cool too... something that can be served warm. What would be awesome is if someone brought marinated artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, peppers and sausge, prosciutto, italian cold cuts, etc.

F. Drinks & Ice - bottled water, ice, soda's, etc.

G. Dessert - big container of vanilla ice cream, peaches (not the cling ones), strawberries, raspberries, pinneapple (fresh and whole). Ever had grilled fruit with ice cream? Fughetaboutet! :)

H. Misc - a couple lemons, olive oil, GARLIC, plastic table covers (they're like $2 at smart n final), plastic forks knives and spoons, paper plates, napkins, cups for the drinks and dessert, about 6 serving aluminum pans (to put the bbq items in after they're cooked).

I will be bringing: Four 6' tables, the bbq, serving spoons, salt pepper and spice. Surprise that I'm making this time is PIZZA on the grill. Yes, it's possible, and I'm making it! :)

Usually this time of year Vons, Albertson's, Ralph's and Vallarta all have sales. Food 4 Less, Smart and Final and Food Plus will all have good deals.
