Buffalo Creek area from Little Scraggy trailhead - Trail rating C2.5 T2
The Buffalo Creek area is a favorite for many a mountain biker. The trails are “swoopy” with twists and dips and not a lot of technical. Diesel will lead this ride on the Colorado Trail and the Green Mountain loop. Other routes may be considered along the way depending on group preferences. Target ride duration is approx 4 hours round trip, followed a stop at Zoka's Restaurant (16940 Pine Valley Rd, Pine).
MEET: Meet at 8:30 at the gravel parking area in front of The Fort Restaurant, hwy 285 & hwy 8 (19192 Highway 8, Morrison, CO 80465). Look for Diesel's red minivan (don't look for Pat, he won't be there). From there those who want to carpool can gather, and those who wish to drive separately can caravan. Next stop will be the Little Scraggy trailhead. Parking there is $6(?) per car.
Directions from The Fort Restaurant to Little Scraggy trailhead: 1. Get back on hwy 285 south, drive about 19 miles. Watch your speed especially for the first few miles, Morrison police frequent the stretch. 2. At the stoplight in Pine Junction, turn left on Co Rd 126 (aka Pine Valley Rd, further down called Deckers Rd). Go 13.6 miles. 3. Turn right on Redskin Creek Rd (aka County Rd 550), then go 100 yards. 4. Turn right to trailhead parking lot.
