I started riding in '86 or so, but the first few years were unskilled, low-effort riding. After getting a better bike in '96, and moving to Fort Collins in '98 and riding with some "real" mountain bikers a few times, my skills, speed, and endurance have been steadily improving. A significant step up occurred a few years ago when I built up a bike from a Fuel 100 frame, and another when I took a BetterRide course in Fruita.

I've been riding closer to home (Fort Collins) this summer (well, except for those 2 Rollins Pass epics), but hope to get my ride count with NOTHY up to 4 or five before this season's out...
Glad to find that there was indeed as much downhill as up. I was worried there for a while!
