Hey all. Today I came across the "Central Park Half Marathon" and decided to sign up. This will be my first organized run. It was a bit of an impulse decision, but I know I'd like to keep up with running over the winter (even though I'd rather be inside eating nachos on the couch), and I'd also like to push myself to see if I can do this! I usually only run 2-4 miles at a time.
If anyone else is interested, I encourage you to sign up for it and join this meetup event (or let me know via message board or email). For now I'm going to stick to 2 runs a week, but I'll probably bring that to 3 come mid December. It would be great to have a few people to keep motivated with!
And remember, this is a casual running group. I'm not racing for time so I won't be going overboard with the training. Mainly this is to keep motivated and perhaps have a fun outing with some other members of the group. I encourage members of all fitness levels to post their own events as well. Hope to see you there!
