Exploring Sassafras Creek

This week we'll be exploring the Sassafras Creek area.  Gorgeous ferntree lined creek area.  The walk is graded moderate to easy with some undulating terrain and some steeper sections. Most likely it will be damp, even if it doesn't rain on the day. We'll map out a walk approx 1hr to 1.5 hr.  From what I can see on the map, unless we back track, we will loop via local roads.  Hope you are free and can join me in this awesome place.  Forecast is for a mostly sunny day at this stage :)

Car pooling is available.  I'm in Bayswater and most likely will travel via Belgrave. I can take up to four passengers.  Let me know if you need a lift at least a day before the walk.

I'm adding a Tuesday and Thursday morning walk to the calendar. These walks will be a little different, and they will also be posted on the  Mount Evelyn Walking and Adventure Group (MWAG) site, so we may have members from both groups attending.

The Tuesday walk will be about exploring a new area mostly, and mapping out a walk for Thursday.  As this is a new area to explore, we will not know the terrain until we get there. So, make sure you have good footwear, preferably hiking boots, or runners with decent grip, as the paths we travel on vary greatly, from concrete paving, gravel tracks, dirt tracks, and board walks. These walks will not aim to be a hard workout, they will be easy to moderate walks, and not at a fast pace.  The aim of these walks is to explore the local bushland pockets, and the Parks and reserves around the Maroondah and Yarra Valley.

Meeting at 10am at the venue. We can carpool if it helps, so make sure you let me know prior to the day if you would like a lift. ( I can take 3 passengers)

We will find somewhere for a cuppa after the walk within the local area.

Please RSVP if you want to join me.  Contact me if needed on[masked]

Heather :)
