I think having a Meet Up to discuss this is a good idea. There
is a free function room that we could book, so it will be quiet to enable us to
discuss everything at The Navigation Pub, Wilford Street, in town (next to
Irish Club and canal) NG2 1AA tel. [masked], I can make enquiries if everyone
agrees? Julie

(I never know how the Meet Up emails work so if this has not gone to everyone
can you pse forward it)
Just returned from holiday and seen your e-mail.
No surprise at all that you are having to give priority to your family - and
quite right too!
I tried creating a dummy group just to see what it costs and this seemed to
show that it is $144/?100 for 6 months - did you pay all this yourself -
if so that was extremely generous.
It would be a shame if the group folded, especially as Jacqueline has come up
with a very good idea that could form a basic thread running through a year's
events.
The website says there are 99 members, so that would be about ?2 each for a
year, assuming:
?
all continued as members
?
all members paid the ?2
In practice there would probably be a load of hassle in actually collecting the
?2s, even if someone forked out the membership fee up front.
Maybe one way forward is to call a Meet up somewhere where we can discuss how
best to proceed, as to try and do it by e-mail would be very onerous.
What do you think?
Regards
Chris

Dear Nottingham Italian Conversation Group Members,
Since the birth of my first son, I've had very little time to plan any meetups
for the group and I also have to be more careful with my budget. As a result,
I've decided not to renew my meetup subscription when it expires in September.
This means, meetups can continue to be scheduled my myself and others until mid
September, but for them to continue thereafter, someone or some people will
need to take over running the group instead of me. If anyone is interested in
this and would like to know more, please get in touch and I'd be happy to
discuss all the details with you.
If anyone has any other ideas about the group, please also get in touch. Other
platforms (facebook, ning etc) offer a similar (free, but less extensive)
facility for organising meetups and these could be an option, if there was
support for such a wholesale switch.
Best wishes,
Edward
