Volunteer meetup gardeners are welcome to join our regular work parties. These run once a fortnight on Saturdays
What do we do?
A regular group of gardeners meet on our demonstration allotment to keep the garden in shape. There are tasks for everyone from turning the compost heap, sowing seeds, general maintenance but some of us just pop down for a look around, a cup of tea and a chat.
After a morning of gardening activities and talking we stop for lunch at 1pm. It's all cooked from produce grown on our site and normally consists of a veggie soup, steamed greens and some home grown potatoes. Then we have a leisurely tidy and finish off any jobs and that's it!
Who goes to these work parties?
We have a core group of around 15 members that regularly go down to the garden on a Saturday. They are interested in organic gardening, good food and spending time outside.
Access is by the main gate from Wilkinson Street. The main gate is open on a Saturday 10- 12
These sessions are FREE to members and include a lunch cooked on site from our produce. All that we ask is that you come and give us a hand doing some gardening or just come in for a chat and a hot drink! You can call in for 5 minutes or stay for the duration.
Please wear suitable clothing and RSVP so we know that you are coming
