Cheapskates Lunch - Graceful Kitchen

  • February 12, 2013 · 12:30 PM

Who'd like to try a different dining experience for the next lunch meetup ?

There is a supper club based in St Anns that specialises mainly in Chinese cuisine and the chef has offered to cook a lunch for us.  There will be three courses (soup-main-salad) and the cost will be a donation of £10.

Soup - using home-made stock:
Hot and sour soup
Miso soup (V.)

Main course:
Yu-Shiang aubergine en Casserole
Homestyle tofu (V.)

Salad:
Six Herbs salad (V.)
Carrots and mooli salad (V.)
Green beans with hazelnuts and orange (V.)

So, are you hungry yet ?  Looks pretty mouth-watering to me !

I have now let yes RSVPs know venue details and directions.

Oh, and for those with a sweet tooth (and sufficient stomach capacity) there will be a light dessert for an extra £1 - Isfahan sorbet which combines the flavours of raspberry, lychee and rose water.

Im not sure what things are??! Also I dont like hot/spicy food and obviously chinese usually isnt but I suspect Yu-Shiang aubergine is (I do prefer meat dishes, it is meat I assume? as theres no v after it).

    • Clive

Donna, I'm pretty sure Grace said the aubergine is spicy. And the soup has to be too I guess ;-)

Hi, Donna, soup just put ground white pepper so it's a little bit hot. And the aubergine is kind of spicy, with ground pork and salted fish.

    Hi Grace,

Clive mentioned that we might have to take our own drinks, is that still the case? Or do you mean if we want to have alcohol? I am and I think a few of the others are quite happy to drink Jasmine or green tea, will that be available? or do we bring our own?

Hi Fiona, of course I will offer green tea, and I can buy some Jasmine tea too. But you have to bring your own alcohol. see you soon.
