Potfest - more pots than you can shake a stick at

Potfest in the Peaks (Bakewell)

Potfest organise some of the largest pottery events in the UK. Usually they're a huge distance away but this year they're putting one on in Bakewell, which is just about do-able.

There's a massive variety of styles and standards of potters and ceramicists, so lots to see. As it's open to anyone it's quite a different show to Earth & Fire at Rufford, if you've ever been to that. Next year I might even try to sell some pots there but this year I'm just doing a reccy and enjoying a good peruse.

Details are at: http://www.potfest.co.uk/potfestpeak.htm

I'm going to have a look on Sunday. I'll leave at 11am and can pick up folk as I pass through the city centre if you want a lift. Most likely returning to Nottingham around 4 or 5pm.

If you're making your own way there I'll send you my number so you can text me to meetup at a cafe or something once we've got our bearings.

Oh, and the stick idea was just a joke. Please don't wave a stick at the pots. And leave the bull at home :)

Cheers
Liam

Hi Liam...I'm quite new in meeting up, and in UK as well...Do you think to visit a pottery fair can be nice for a foreigner? :)

How about just around the corner from the station, in front of the magistrates court opposite the bus station on Canal Street, at 11.15? Look out for a silver Ford Focus. I'll send you my mobile number. Hasta mañana! :)

Just thought I should warn everyone: it doesn't say so on the web but I found a flyer for the event which says there's a £3.50 entry fee

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
