As some of you may know I am going to be leaving for a while to work in Kenya so I have decided to have a farewell bash. In the fine tradition of my time in Notts I intend to put on a real ale day.
I will start it at the Wollaton Cricket Club Beer Festival where I will meet people from 4pm. The Festival is free and open to everybody. 25 ales and 5 real ciders will be available on the day all at the bargain price of 2 of your British pounds per pint.
I will be staying there until 8.00 when I will get the 8.15 Trent Barton number 2 bus back into Notts and go to visit the pubs which serve the best pints in the city. I have yet to decide on an exact plan of these, it will depend on how much walking we want to do, but it will start at 8.30 at the Organ Grinder ( 21 Alfreton Road ) and will likely head into town and then on up Mansfield Road. Perhaps a night for sensible shoes.
All welcome although those drinking filthy lager drinks will be frowned opon and tutted at.
For those unfamiliar with the location of the Cricket Club it is in Central Wollaton only a short distance from the park, sadly I don't know anything about parking in the area but I guess there must be at least some space at the clubhouse. If you want to travel in on the bus with me then let me know and I will meet you at the Victoria Bus Station.
