Barefoot Walk for charity

This is a Guinness record attempt for more than 7050 barefoot walkers in one place!

Take a look at the Barefoot Walk Nottingham website: http://www.barefootwalknottingham.co.uk/

You have to sign up there, and pay your £10 entry fee, and the money goes to:

The Nottingham Hospitals Charity Fund

and

Childrens Air Ambulance

There is usually lots of waiting around at the start as everyone gets counted, hence making it a Meetup so we have a few people to chat to... the walks start at 11am.

I really enjoyed this, not just the walk, but the bouncy castle too! The bouncy gladiator bit was fun too, but glad I was victorious Kay...;-)

See you at 10.15am on the steps... will embarrass myself with a green balloon, to stand out from the crowd :-)

All right then! I am registered and information-ed up!

So it looks like registration is[masked]am on Sunday, just in front of Wollaton Hall. Shall we all meet up then register together? I suggest we meet on the steps of Wollaton Hall at 10.15am, if we can get to them. If we can't, then in front of Ice Banana (whatever that is!!). I have a green star helium balloon I can bring so you can identify me! First one to meet me there gets to inhale the helium...

3k walk lasts 'till 11.30, 5k walk till 12 ish - shall we let the weather decide which length we do? Rain = 3km, sunny = 5km?

Then we get to enjoy the live music, Gem fm dancing hamster (!), silent disco and bouncy castles 'till it finishes around 3.
    Yes BOUNCY CASTLES, plural!

    See you there...
    :-)

Glad you managed to register & I'm Assumin that I now don't need to post up any info.
I think the state of our feet might decide on how far we want to go ?!
I like a bouncy castle, hope adults can go in them & that our feet will be upto it...

Hello... I'm being a rather useless host here... as my PayPal account has gone on the fritz, I haven't managed to sign up yet... am trying to sort that, but if Emma T, Karen or Paul would be kind enough to post the information they've been sent by the organisers, meanwhile, I'd really appreciate that - so we can sort out where to meet on the day...

I'm not planning on contributing more than the entrance fee myself btw. No time to collect sponsorship at this point.

Emma T: I'm not too worried about going barefoot at Wollaton Park, as I've walked a bit there with my shoes off, and the biggest hazard seems to be deer poo (which is nowhere near as noxious as dog poo, given they eat grass...). I'm assuming that part of the organisation will be that they walk over the course and clear anything that could cause injury, as they will have to attend to health and safety.

Hi, I'm away at mo, but can post up things on fri. It was only a sponsorship form, map of route, map of stalls & bouncy castle & basic facts, but nothing really worth reading!!

      September 4, 2013

    • Kay

      :-) thank you Emma T

      September 4, 2013

  • Kay

PS - if you are concerned... do speak up here. I don't mind if people change their minds, but would like to know before the day, so I know who I'm trying to find in the crowd!

  • Emma T

I've signed up,, but they then emailed a sponsorship form... afraid I'm not planning to get sponsors, I thought the entrance fee & Guinness book of records was enough!
Am also wondering if we're mad... has anyone else done any barefoot walking?

    September 3, 2013

  • Karen

    Just done it too!!!!

    September 3, 2013

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
