Vadering, Quidditching (and a picnic)

For those of you that haven't seen it, taking a photo at just the right time can turn you into a Sith Lord or a Wizard!

This event is to take as many photos as we can of each other Vadering and Quiddiching (while enjoying a picnic of course) to make a great photo album for the group. :-)

All you need to bring is a camera, broom/sweeping brush/mop/vacuum cleaner - anything like that will do - and your food for the picnic of course.

Bringing any 'props' you feel would be good in the photos will only make things better.

The more people with camera there are, the more photos we can take and put together into an album.

Cameras with fast shutter speeds are best and if you have a tripod, bring that too.

I've started editing the photos and there are some great ones in there.
I should have them all up by the weekend. Here's one of Fiona who decided to invent Poppinsing to add to Vadering and Quidditching. :-D

It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day. :)
For those of you that haven't been to one of our picnics before, please bring your own food and drink. Some people bring a little to share but that's in no way mandatory. :)

Wayne - Where exactly are you meeting at the patk tomorrow?

    September 6, 2013

  • Wayne

I will be putting all the video and photos on my laptop at the end of the photo-shoot so I can edit them for the album. I have a standard micro-USB to USB cable to transfer stuff from my phone. If your camera/phone has a different type of connector (I'm looking at you iPhone users and serious camera users), please bring a lead so I can transfer your images to my laptop. Many thanks.

Can I bring my boys to this? We've got a wand from Warner studio tour (think its Dumbledores) only thing is I only have iPhone camera/video and not sure that will be any good?

    September 6, 2013

    • Wayne

You and your boys will be very welcome Sally. The wand will be a great prop for some of the shots. :) My experiments with my phone's camera have produced great results so you should be fine.

I've been experimenting with different cameras/phones etc and have found that trying to click the 'take picture' button at exactly the right time can be very hit and miss.
What has worked better for me is to video the action (on HD mode on my phone) and then I can play it through frame by frame on my computer and choose the best frame as the picture.
So, anything that takes video is also really good - even your phone.
For my Facebook friends, see the picture of Michelle that I posted 'on her broomstick' on Saturday 17th.
Please feel free to add me on Facebook if you're not one of my FB friends already.
I will be taking my laptop on the day and I can download all the pictures and video onto it and edit them after the event.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
