Film Choice: Austenland or Rush @ Broadway

Austenland

Director: Jerusha Hess
Cast: JJ Feild, Keri Russell
Origin: United Kingdom
Duration: 97m

30-something, single Jane Hayes is a seemingly normal young woman with a secret: her obsession with all things Jane Austen. When she decides to spend her life savings on a trip to an English resort catering to Austen–crazed women, Jane's fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency–era gentleman suddenly become more real than she ever could have imagined. Will fantasy and reality merge for Jane? A wickedly funny, irreverent comedy, featuring a malapropism-peppered performance by Jennifer Coolidge and an impeccable cast of archetypal characters.

Rush

Director: Ron Howard
Cast: Daniel Brühl , Chris Hemsworth
Origin: United States
Duration: 122m

Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed - handsome English playboy Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Niki Lauda. Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.

James wants to see Rush, and Charlotte wants to see Austenland, so we thought we'd try a joint meetup! Meet in the bar on the ground floor of Broadway from 4.30 for a drink before Austenland starts at 5.15, and Rush starts at 5.30. Once we get there we'll post an update on here to describe whereabouts we're sitting.  Depending on how busy it is we'll probably go into the screens 5-10 minutes before the films start. Austenland will finish first, so we can go for a drink in the cafe bar after the film, and wait for the others.

Broadway offer their customers 4 hours parking in the Lace Market multi storey car park for a discount price of £3. You have to remember to give your parking ticket to the staff at the box office in Broadway and they will stamp it for you. Then, when you pay at the parking machine you will only have to pay £3.00!

Tickets are available from the box office or online here...

I'm having to rsvp no, now due to the logistics of trying to do two things at once. My meal is booked for 7 so something has to give. Hope you all enjoy the films. I will try and get to see Austenland later in week.

Hi Anne, you can buy your ticket tomorrow or in advance. The tickets aren't numbered so we can sit together regardless of when we buy our tickets. :-)
