Like Father, Like Son - another Japanese film @ Broadway

Like Father, Like Son

Director: Kore-eda Hirokazu
Cast: Masaharu Fukuyama, Machiko Ono
Origin: Japan
Duration: 120m
Subtitles: Yes

Hard-working businessman Ryota's dream of a perfect life is dramatically challenged after an unexpected phone call from the hospital informs him that his son is not his biological son, as he was given the wrong baby six years ago. Having to choose between "nature" and "nurture", and communicating with the rough yet caring family who raised his blood son for the last six years, Ryota is left pondering over his "fatherhood". A bittersweet drama that deeply moved its audience at Cannes.

Meet in the bar from 5.00. When I get there I'll put an update on here to describe where I am. The film starts at 5.45 and I'll go into the screen at around 5.35-5.40.

I'm at Broadway, in the Cafe Bar on the ground floor. I'm at a round table directly in front of the doors.

I'm about to head into town to do some shopping before the film. Hope that some of you make it despite the weather!

Think I'll be crying in this one but for the right reasons, not because the film is a musical! Just about recovered from Sunshine on Leith ;-)
