Sunday Morning Piano Series: Clare Hammond

Mozart 12 Variations in C major on C. Fischer's Minuet, K. 179
Mendelssohn Three Songs Without Words from Op. 67 (Nos. 2, 4 and 5)
Schubert Sonata in A major, D. 664
Ginastera Danzas Argentinas

Nottingham's own Claire Hammond, described by The Daily Telegraph as a pianist of 'amazing power and panache', performs excerpts from Mendelssohn's enduring Songs Without Words, which continue the mood set by Mozart's 12 variations. Schubert's 'Little' A major Sonata reflects the love of its Romantic creator, with buoyant spirits mixed with moments of poignancy before lively Argentinean folk rhythms erupt from Ginastera's Danzas Argentinas.

Sunday Morning concerts are informal performances that offer the chance to enjoy great piano music in a relaxed ambience. Where possible the pieces in the programme are introduced from the stage and audience members are able to chat with the performers over tea, coffee and cake after the concert. Refreshments are included within the ticket price.

    Hey Katrina and John,

I would recommend buying your tickets in advance. I am attending the whole series. You can purchase your tickets online:
    http://www.trch.co.uk/index.aspx?articleid=15452

Tickets are £10 and seating is unreserved so we can sit together. I will be in the Starbucks on Upper Parliament Street from 10 a.m. if you'd like to join me. I will make my way over to the theatre around 10.40 a.m.
