As something a bit different I thought I would see if anybody would be interested in a weekend trip to my home city Manchester.
There are double rooms available at the travel lodge listed for £31 a night ( non refundable/price per double room not per person ) at the moment which seems great value. The Hotel is around £10 taxi fare from the city centre.
Here is the plan.
Travel up Friday. Check in and meet. Go for an Evening meal on The Curry Mile an area well know for its "Indian" food. Followed by a trip to a lively bar.
Saturday. Tour around some of the local cultural sites, museums, galleries and places of historical interest. Everywhere is reachable on foot or tram. Those who want can opt to do some shopping. After an evening meal in China Town we can then take in some of the night life and club scene.
Sunday. Check out and head back but maybe make a stop at Lyme Park for a stroll and a visit to one of the countries best known national trust houses.
Suggestions for anything particular welcome. I know pretty much everywhere.
If anybody is interested please let me know. Please only RSVP if you are serious about going, leave a comment to confirm how you are travelling. I will delete RSVPs with no comment. I don't know how long the hotel offer will last. Book rooms yourself from Travel Lodge website. This event will go ahead if we get at least 5 people signed and paid up. Car sharing is encouraged, I would welcome a lift.
