'Questions of Value' Talk at Nottingham Contemporary

Questions of Value

19 Mar 2013

6.30pm

Free

The Space

A collaboration with the Politicized Practice Research Group (PPRG), Loughborough University

Dave Beech (Chelsea College of Art, University of the Arts London) and Toni Prug (School of Business and Management, Queen Mary, University of London) will discuss the application of conventional economic models to analysing the value of commodities - and argue for the possibility of alternatives.

Chaired by Mel Jordan (PPRG & Freee art collective)

Some of us went to a talk at Nottingham Contemporary last year, about the Zombie Metaphor and current work patterns. I found it fascinating, so thought it would be interesting to try another talk.

Meet in the foyer in front of the Cafe Bar and 'The Space' at around 6 o'clock. (This is downstairs on the ground floor). Last time we went into the talk at around 6.15 in order to get seats together.

Tickets are free and can be ordered online here...

"How Art Doesn't fit into Economic Models" might have been a more accurate title. A fascinating glimpse into a world of very academic academia. I really enjoyed our chat in the pub afterwards too. Thanks for putting up the event Charlotte

Was a bit economic analysis heavy ...yawn...sigh! Nonetheless, thought provoking and generated good discussion in the group after :-)
