Mon 20th Aug 7.30pm "Blood of the Amazon" is being shown in the Lounge at the Broadway; the film-maker Nicola Peel will give a talk after the film and answer questions.
The film is about the terrible pollution of the Amazon in Ecuador by Texaco and other oil companies, and the attempts by local people and environmentalists to clear it up. 30X as much oil has been spilt there as was spilt in the Exon Valdise disaster!
£5 on the door or more if you want to donate to the work to clear up the pollution. No advance tickets.
