Our wine-tasting club is now running well : we were 11 participants at the previous wine tasting of Chenin blanc (Loire Valley versus South Africa), even though only 2 persons from meet-up turned up. I guess the "word of mouth" is working then.
Our next session will revolve around what Italy has best to offer in terms of red wine. We will explore the some of the most renowned areas where red wine is grown, including Toscany (Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, the Super Toscans), Piemonte (Barolo and Barbaresco) and Veneto (Valpolicella and Amarone di Valpolicella).
The date has been postponed to the 17th of May (instead of the 3rd) because several participants could not confirm their availability on this bank holiday week-end. I guess then that the next one will take place two/three weeks later, i.e. the 7th of June.
The venue has not yet been defined, because i heard several proposals should we want to expand into a bigger club (my living can just fit 12 people). I welcome your proposals then (If any).
See you on the 17th of may and do not hesitate to make any suggestion on the programme or the content of the on-coming sessions.
