I have made room in the dropbox by taking out the marvel rpg pdf and taking out the tbz pdf and the werewolf pdf. I will put it on a flashdrive and bring it to the l5r game

Hey Chris, how about the that idea to do RT on Sunday this week in light Mike's mage game conflict and Chris Sherwood being unable to do Saturday but able to do Sunday? Many birds, one stone, eh?

Saturdays are my fun days lets DO THIS!!!

    • Robert

How do you feel about Sundays lol :P

      March 12

    • Chris Wood!

Sunday's best for us since Mike's Mage game is this Saturday, and has been scheduled on it for some time in advance.

So there are more detailed rules for social challenges on page 204 of Into the Storm. In brief, you basically just set a difficulty for the challenge based on the disposition of the NPC, and then we both roll something. Successes I get over them increases their disposition towards positive.

More interestingly, they provide rules for interaction challenges--like exploration challenges, but using social skills. Say we need to impress a diplomat at a party--GM sets a number of degrees of success needed to succeed, and then we can all take turns using various social and knowledge skills to try to reach that difficulty. It's a cool way to add social mechanics to the kinds of things we do routinely (and definitely adds a bit more utility to the social abilities of the RT and seneschal careers).

We had a few things wrong with the vehicle combat too. Everyone in a vehicle acts on the driver's initiative and when you get Righteous Fury against a vehicle you don't reroll the 10, you instead immediately inflict a 1d5 result from the crit table. So, like a "penetrating hit" from the wargame.

So the chimera's are like a bomb with wheels then, oh well.

Chris, I've had Mage scheduled for a while now for the 16th (>1 month). I would normally just move it, but my next few weekends are tight, and I don't feel like postponing for another month. Could we maybe run this on a Sunday or something?

A compromise were neither game is significantly pushed back would definitely be a thing of beauty and a joy forever.

      March 8

  • Chris Wood!

Welp. That's that. I can't make it now, again.

    March 7

    • Robert

Lol poor Chris, but I'm afraid on the 16th, Mike's Mage game was up awhile and has dibs on my attention.

Mike, good stuff. I'll look it up. However, I still reserve my right to have NPC reactions make sense, but will weight social skills into my decision.

I understand there's a reluctance to surrender narrative control to the dice rolls, but rolling with the punches can make for a fun wild ride. It's like combat, the encounter might be impossibly hard and the best idea is to not engage.

PLEASE NOTE THE DATE OF THE NEXT GAME. This weekend is L5R, followed by Rogue Trader next weekend!

You should talk with Mike, conflicts with his Mage game now.

      March 7

  • Chris Wood!

Is this really set for the 9th? I hope so, I can't make the 16th, and I am sick of missing games... :(
