Welcome to the online home of NoVa Outdoors & Paddle Club.

More than anything Meetup is about "meeting people." We require potential members submit a clear photo of *themselves* with their application, because we'd like to be able to recognize them! Please keep reading if this does not offend your sensibilities.

We are a club for the active and experienced out-doors people. On some trips we welcome the inexperienced. However, we are not a club for inactive members. We ask that members attend a couple of events a year in order to stay on the list.

Our core mission statement: We are a group of people who enjoy taking their time getting from Point A to Point B so that nature may be enjoyed without too much hurry, allowing time to soak up the sights and sounds. Let's get out, enjoy, and have a good time. This is really what it's all about.

For safety and security reasons we require members to post a CLEAR photo showing their face with their profile. In the case of a missing hiker or paddler this should be self-explanatory! Photos will also be taken during group events and posted and tagged here on our website. We are a camera-friendly crowd. If you are not, this club is probably not for you.

Along with the standard disclaimer-type stuff below we want to remind people that the whole reason we do this is for fun, the pleasure of being outdoors and the pleasure of good company. So please, if you have ever been described as a party pooper, pain in the neck, or other unpleasant p-word pass us by. Life is too short to put up with nonsense.

DISCLAIMER: during any group event, everyone is responsible for themselves. The organizer and assistant organizers ARE NOT responsible for the safety of the participants. We will try our best to prevent accidents, but are not responsible or liable if something happens to you. By joining the group, you acknowledge this. All members must read, understand, and ABIDE by the following Statements:
