Save Your Own by Elisabeth Brink

From Amazon description:

Meet Gillian Cormier-Brandenburg: a virginal, narcoleptic, atheistic Harvard Divinity School student struggling to finish her Ph.D. thesis. When her fellowship is revoked, Gillian must venture outside the walls of academia in search of a new source of income as well as interview subjects for her dissertation. She takes a job at Responsibility House, a halfway house for recovering addicts. Here pintsize Gillian is charged with the unlikely task of imposing order on unruly tenants, including motorcycle-obsessed Janet, impulsive former prostitute Florine, and self-righteous Stacy, who begin to inspire her to rethink her own dreams and desires.

Sorry I was a no show again, guys. Dog cancer is still going on and I'm afraid that it's gotten worse. I'm actually up at the UC Davis Vet School with the poor little guy now. I really do look forward to meeting everyone sometime in the future, though--.y'all keep picking such interesting books!

Although I didn't love the book, I did love the discussion. These Novel Lovers make every discussion meaningful, insightful, and fun. It's a delight to be a part of this group.

Unable to make it today - I have a cold and don't think I should share it with everyone. Joan, I tried to send this message yesterday but it came back to me so sorry for the late notice.

Don't worry. I'm sending it today. I wait until the RSVPs look final, and sometimes there are a flurry of changes after Meetup sends out an event reminder.

I am volunteering at the Napa Film Festival and not sure of my schedule yet. I'd so like to come to this one since I've missed several months now. I'm going to try to get Sunday afternoon off.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
