I finally read "Kafka on the Shore" by Murakami, and loved it's surreal connections, as was also true of "1Q84." I also recently read "The Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon" by Tom Spanbauer, which I also found to be an odd and engaging book.
I would love to have a discussion about one or more of Murakami's books. I find them odd yet .compelling if you give in to his concept of various levels of reality.
Since I've read so much nonfiction for my work, I love the idea of being part of a group that discusses novels.
I'm a partially retired professor (economics and gender studies), happily relocated to Sebastopol from southern California. Among other activities, I enjoy swimming, doing art, and dancing.
We always have intelligent discussions that help me appreciate the books even more.
