Thank you for the recent flurry of RSVP action re our discussion of The History of Love this Sunday. If you haven’t already, please check that your RSVP is accurate at http://www.meetup.com/Novel-Lovers-of-Sebastopol/events/32790712/.

This will be the last regular meeting at Ellen’s house. If you’re new and don’t have her address (it’s not posted online), please email me directly at [address removed]  – don’t hit “reply” which sends your email to the whole group.

What is The History of Love about? From an interview in The Telegraph (UK) :

“It is about how people respond to loss and what happens in the aftermath of that”, says Krauss. “How does one recreate the self?” The answer, she says, is the imagination. It is how her characters reshape their past and their memories. “The History of Love isn’t just about loss,” she says, elaborating further, “but about this opportunity that follows that loss, and this necessary need to act.”

There are also plenty of reviews online – just Google “nicole krauss the history of love reviews” and read at will.

Starting November, we’ll meet at Lynne’s--a new member, who graciously offered her home--just up the street. In a couple of weeks, I’ll send the address to those who have RSVP’ed for November’s meeting.

Thank you for being Novel Lovers!
