I’m about to send out an email to the people who RSVPed yes to our June 17 meeting with Lynne’s address. If you didn’t RSVP yet, please do: http://www.meetup.com/Novel-Lovers-of-Sebastopol/events/63953122/. If you RSVP after I send out the address (you’ll know that because you won’t receive the address), then please email me directly at [address removed] from your own email address (not through Meetup) and ask for it.
Other upcoming meetings:
JULY 22, Swamplandia! We discussed this as one of the finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction that was not awarded. Several of you were interested in reading some of the finalists to award our own mini-Pulitzer. We need a place to meet. If you can volunteer your home, we’ll bring you food (and leave some behind for you) and give you our fervent thanks. Please email me at [address removed] if you can host us on July 22.
AUGUST: I finished reading Toni Morrison’s Love, and it’s incredible – the plot, the characters, the writing. We’ll read that for August. I heard from a few of you echoing this book choice, but no one told me about any date issue between August 19 or 26. So I’m tempted to play Queen and declare August 26 as our meeting. However, since we don’t have a meeting place yet, if you volunteer to host us in August, YOU get the final word on which date we meet. Tell me fast, please, so I post the right date.
Speaking of RSVP:
Please make your RSVP real, and change it if your plans change. It’s fine if you have to change from yes to no even as late as the scheduled day. Just go to that meeting on the Novel Lovers site (http://www.meetup.com/Novel-Lovers-of-Sebastopol/) and change your RSVP, super simple. But please don’t RSVP yes and then not show up, which three people did last time. The host plans for enough seating and beverages, and it’s the right thing to let us know whether to expect you.
Thank you, all of you fabulous Novel Lovers who make our meeting a highlight of my month!
