"My sister and I are avid readers. After exploring this site and seeing how popular ChickLit type groups are, we decided it might be fun to start our own. My sis works at Barnes and has an "In" to all the good ChickLit books coming out. So we hope to have some really good books to read and discuss. Also we hope to meet some new friends in the Portland area."

Above is the description that I wrote when the group was first started. Since then my sister started culinary school (while working full time) so she doesn't really have time to participate in a book club. So I (Sami) host the book club myself. Though I get a lot of help from the regular members and we all pick the books collectively. It is a pretty laid back club - so it might not be for you if you are looking for a lot of structure. But we always have a great time. We have read some really great books and some that are just so-so. We always have great snacks (sometimes too great like brownies and sweets) You can come every month or a couple times a year. It is up to and your schedule. We are always open.
