Have you always wanted to meditate, but not sure where to start? Experienced meditator who likes the inspiration of group company? Mindfulness and meditation are now being found to have measurable positive impacts on mental and physical health of regular practitioners. This group meets to sit and meditate in varied settings (indoor and outdoor), with regular discussion (though emphasis is on the sitting), and some book reading/discussion. This is a secular based group, so no religious affiliation or beliefs required, though many of the principles of meditation grew from Buddhism and other religious traditions. This group is not a substitute for medical care, either mental or physical. If you have particular physical or mental health issues, you are more than welcome to join, but please be aware that you also need to continue to work with your licensed healthcare professionals in addressing your needs. Meditation is one tool out of many in your health and wellness toolbox.
