So the test run of Die Koelner Bierhalle as a gaming spot seemed to go off pretty well. I dug it and the comments section for the event seems to suggest that other people did as well! We had a nice mix of old and new people in addition to people not actually there for the meetup asking to play games. We found out that at least two people who work at the beer hall are into board games (which doesn't affect anything, but I thought it was cool) and there was tons of space. Plus great beer and pretzels!
So let's give this another go and if this one goes as smoothly then I'll probably make this a regular thing. Come, bring friends, and let's fill this mother to the rafters with board games.
Also just a heads up my concerns about noise turned out not really to be an issue. It seems like getting there at 2 means avoiding the brunch crowd and all in all it was a pretty chill experience. It does seem like things pick up a bit from 5-7, but it was never too loud for gaming and after 7 it seems to slow down again.
A couple of reminders...
1) RSVP - Honestly I love it when people RSVP anytime, but in this case it's more important because I need to reserve tables. You don't have to be a hundred percent certain you're coming when you RSVP, but PLEASE CHANGE IT if you know you're not coming.
2) Please remember the three main things I ask for most events. No outside food or drinks, remember to purchase something from the establishment where the game night is being held and be careful when you play with games that aren't yours.
^ This is probably unnecessary to mention, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to reiterate all of them!
Hope to see you there! And use the comments to tell people if you're bringing anything.
