Introduction to Node.js

Node.js is a platform built on Chrome's JavaScript runtime for easily building fast, scalable network applications. Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run across distributed devices.

Gary Temme will be providing an introduction to Node.js. Learn about the benefits of using Node and when it might be a good fit for your project. We will build out some simple examples for handling basic CRUD operations and learn how to use socket.IO for real time push.

I can probably come. I understand a little about Node but am trying to make the leap to understanding how to make a real world application of it on any of my websites.
