Sunday Evening Ocean Bike Ride for Fitness or Cruising.

Roz – An organizer from Jay’s Singles Bikes Rides on Saturdays

Starting an every Sunday 5:00 evening ride in Newport Beach.

Touring Balboa Island, across the ferry, left to the wedge and then the boardwalk both ways. - 2+ hours.
It is a ride I do all the time and is great for cruising, mindful appreciation along the ocean with stretches that are great for hard intervals if you so choose.

Beach cruise or train hard or both. The course is out and back lends itself to both but mainly it is to have fun, meet like minded people, be safe and enjoy the beauty of where we live. This is NOT a speed 'pack ride' and is open for all levels.

Route tries to stay away from cars.

Come out and meet new people. Exercise gratitude as an action. Clear the mind and refresh the soul for the week ahead.

Helmets highly recommended.
The ferry is $1.25 each way.
Bring snacks.
Plan ahead.
Check you tires for air pressure.
Bring water and a jacket shell if the temperature drops with the onset of evening and sunset.

Haven’t ridden for a while? Don't wait until you are there to check out your bike.

I will publish my cell number on Sunday.

Great ride Sunday. The weather was not sunny but was a near perfect ride regardless. 14 miles along the ocean and on the bay.
Same time and place next Sunday.

    HI All.

Invite a friend for tomorrow's (Sunday) ride. The intention is to create a ride that is always going on for every Sunday evening. The starting time will reflect the time of the year. Something that anyone can count on regardless of how much they ride.

Just sowing up is half the effort. As this is an out and back route and a total ocean experience it is suitable for any ability. If you get tired - just run back.

I'm trying to stay away from cars as much as possible. This is no a fast 'pack' ride but there are stretches for hard intervals.

email me with question, comments or suggestions.

    • Paul

There is a place on Balbo that rents bikes http://www.sportsrent.... Just over the bridge.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
