San Diego Wild Animal Park has a special sleepover night dedicated to photographers. This year there is one on May 17 and another on September 13. Both are Sunday nights running into Monday morning.
Here is what the park says about it: Get photography tips and the chance to take incredible wildlife photos when the Wild Animal Park is closed to the general public. Animal ambassadors will even come to you for fabulous close-up shots. (NOTE: 16- and 17-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult)

Tent space runs from $149 to $225 per person for the night depending on the size of the tent, plus park admission (currently $35 per adult). Groups of 15 or larger save $20 on the tent.

Here are some details about our great group: • We have both regular monthly meetings and scheduled excursions as well as informal get-together discussions. • Scheduled photography outings include nature centers, botanical gardens, whale watching trips, special events, and simple afternoons photographing beautiful Orange, L.A. and San Diego counties. • Each meeting includes a lesson of some sort—from photoshop tricks and shortcuts to sharing new techniques like HDR.
