While I was in Dana Point for the Whale Festival, I met a guy showing his photos. He also teaches photography through the city of San Clemente. This isn't an endorsement but it sounded interesting and I thought someone in the club might find this useful. Here is the information he sent me: -- Paul McElligott Recalculating Temple Owl Ted Turner - "Sports is like a war without the killing." ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Frank L. Ritenour <[address removed]> Date: Mon, Mar 9, 2009 at 9:38 AM Subject: Photography Class Information To: [address removed] Paul, I want to welcome you to the path to improve your photography and start having fun with it. It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday at the Dana Point Whale Festival. Our class From Snapshots to Art takes you through the steps, in camera and Photoshop, to improve to the point where you are making photographic art. Our next class starts on Monday April 13th. It will be held on Monday nights, 6:30 to 9:30 PM. This class is through the San Clemente Parks and Recreation Dept. It is usually held in the Community Center on Del Mar Street in San Clemente. The price is $350 for the eight classes and two field trips. For me: I have attached the class overview with an information sheet for you to fill out and e-mail back to me. It gives me a way to learn about what you want to get out of the class so I can make any adjustments as necessary. For the City: To sign-up with the City of San Clemente, go to their web site www.San-Clemente.org. In the dark blue bar that goes across the top, look for Recreation and click on it. Click on Recreation Activities. Here you have two options Online Registration or download the Registration Form. My class is: Course - Digital Photography Adult. In this newsletter we will give you an update of the upcoming activities in the art community. San Clemente Art Association The San Clemente Art Association Spring Art Show unveiled the winners of this show. I entered "View from the Casa" which won second place in photography. In order to not have the inside of the arch a silhouette, I shot the picture as a high dynamic range image. More on this new and exciting photographic technique in a workshop later.
