MEEvtL event listing MBPR0W:

  1. MO0I1G: Now a nearly guaranteed popular event! How?
    1. MO0I2T: The date on this event (shown above) is NOT final and WILL be moved forward...
UNTIL we have, at least 5 days before it, RSVP YESes from
at least 20 people with 55% women.
    2. MO0IPC: Once this happens, the date will be finalized at the soonest reasonable date given:
      1. MO0IBD: aiming so the day-of-week and time-of-day stay the same, for easy planning.
      2. MP2IIS: NOT on some obvious conflict as a major holiday unless the event description says so (so any listing then would only temporary to collect more RSVPs)
    3. MO0J0Y: Once the date is finalized, that will immediately be announced, especially to all who already RSVPed YES.
    4. MO0I8Y: Until finalized, the date will be incrementally moved forward...
      1. MO0IAY: ideally as soon as clear that's necessary
      2. MO0I9Y: by 1 week typically, but
      3. MXQ49D: the postpone period will double typically when there has been no significant change from last scheduling, to avoid needless alerting & rescheduling
    5. MO0I6W: Any excess RSVP YESes, as most likely any excess men RSVPs, will be moved to a waiting list.
    6. MO0JFX: For any excess, we will get selective as to who gets in, but given no other factors, priority will be given to who RSVPed YES first.
    7. MO0JWJ: As one could infer, this plan should assure what it's goal is: that we never have another meeting with low attendance (as short of critical mass, yes even for a leftist group trying to take root in conservative (behind the orange curtain) Orange County) NOR gender imbalance (yes, even for an easily-seen-as sexual group, so normally an-excess-of men, or all men)!
  2. MHQ8ST: Want more folks attending, plus great events totally suiting you? Then MAKE IT HAPPEN! -click here! Including:
    1. MJ9E11: for our upcoming/future events
      1. MJ9E48: Don't wait, RSVP NOW! And if a MAYBE just say YES with explanation.
        • MJ9EOM: for special-interest Meetups as ours, this REALLY helps build attendance more than anything else.
      2. MJ9E9N: SUGGEST TOPICS by commenting on the event listing, with 1 top-level comment per topic.
        • MJ9EPD: We typically cover the topics people suggest.
    2. MJ9ESK: BRING YOUR LAPTOP + Devices for accessing Meetup, including for website sharing & research, posting questions & announcements, RSVPing for future events, and much more: just click that link.
  3. MDJQ6Z: Occurrences plus Historic Changes, in order:
  4. LG4OWH: What are these codes as “LG4OWH:” on this point? They’re short IDs to date-stamp, uniquely-reference, & portably-track most any point or item.
  5. MDMN8M: Listing History, in order
    1. MKNMPR: all authoring here byIDestinyexcept where noted here.
    2. MMF3E0: for prior history see last listing which this is a copy of.
    3. MO08GM: added MO08FM; pst[masked]Thu2100.
    4. MO0LHH: added MO0JU0+MO0LGO; pst[masked]Fri0143.
    5. MP2J2M: (MO0I1G updated: MO0I2T for clarity (adding "moved forward & "), (MO0I8Y, including MP2IIS motivated by the temporary-schedule on a major holiday)); pst[masked]Thu1320.
    6. MQ3POA: Updated MMF3GX: replaced date from "[masked]" to "2013.(when enough RSVP YESes)" & added MQ3PWP; title portion: fr "#14" to "#15"; pst[masked]Wed1518.
    7. MXQ3NA: Due to a member not getting & heeding top featured dir quote(MO0I2T: The date on this event (shown above) will be moved forward & not-finalized until we have, at least 5 days before, RSVP YESes of (MO0I4Y: at least 20 people,)(MO0I5A: 55% women)) which all ~15 members before had no problem with, to make even clearer by updating to present version; containing section MO0I1G: reviewed again & polished further; pst[masked]Wed1907.

I'm sorry to say that this is officially the most confusing meetup group I've ever been a part of. All these codes, rules, abbreviations and event changes are very time-consuming to decipher. I'm sure it's all there for a reason, but looking through previous posts, I'm just not seeing a clear answer. So when is the April 3rd event actually happening? If it is actually on the 3rd, I'll have to back out because it's my mother's birthday and I made plans. Perhaps someone can explain to me how to navigate this page and the OC Poly group in general? So far, it has just been very alienating. A welcome message would have even been nice.

If anyone is out there, thanks for your consideration in helping a lost sheep.

Thanks you for your efforts in communicating to me, Destiny. It's nice to see that you actually care. And thank you for the compliments, as I'm sure we are both alike in that we care about the things we do and the way we communicate. As a fellow intentional person, I'll reiterate that I was truly sorry to be making my initial post because after several blocks of time between multiple logins to attempt navigating the page and previous posts and updates, despite being reasonably tech savvy, I found myself lost and frustrated. The time stamps on the posts were not reliable and for some reason, entire posts were beyond the scope of my patience to sift through pages of codes and code references akin to reading a detailed contract. Your responses to my post indicate to me that you took a personal offense to my words that were meant to serve the dual purpose of getting assistance from a human and offering constructive criticism through my frustrations, neither of which were wellaccomplished.

Maybe. It is far for me to drive but my night classes are in spring break so I want to try to come while I can. I'm bringing my sister so that I'm not coming alone.

Looking forward to meeting like-minded people, though we may not make it until at least 7pm. Hope this event doesn't change time or place as seems to be implied by Destiny's postings can happen?

Although I emphasized in my post that we we were NOT interested in RSVPing for an event only to be told it wasn't happening & that yet again was moved later in the year, that's exactly what took place with this non-event. If we were supposed to infer from your post above that there weren't enough people (20? half women?) & that it was being canceled one more time, we didn't. Bob & I altered our schedules & drove separately to Round Table Pizza to find no event &, curiously, the banquet room occupied by another group. Guess you didn't even reserve it? We'll be changing our RSVP to no--not going to get jerked around by your extensive rules of having a certain number of RSVPs before you actually HOLD an event that's been scheduled for weeks. WAY too many rules, WAY too much gobbledy gook in the form of "codes" & acronyms making your posts almost unreadable. Good luck attracting people--we don't have time to decipher gibberish or to go to an event someone cancels on the day of.

I work in LA so this is too far on a weekday to make it on time. Maybe next time...=)

Thanks for thinking of me! My only problem is that most of the events I see are at a time during the weekday that I cannot possibly make it on time. I'm waiting to see something on like a Saturday or Sunday. Don't worry..I get the emails and check the event dates often. =) Thanks again!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
