OC Sencha Meeting

  • October 17, 2013 · 6:30 PM

*** New Meeting Location ***

Codazen has recently moved to a new office. We now have a larger conference room also. No more elevator issues!

Thanks to everyone that has been attending our Meetup on Sencha technologies and also to Sencha for paying our Meetup.com fees.

Please notify Mike Merchant, your OC Sencha organizer, if you are interested in presenting. It doesn't have to be on Sencha. The topic could be anything related to web and mobile app development, JavaScript, frameworks, cross-platform app development, etc.

MUTYF5: Per the description "if you are interested in presenting. It doesn't have to be on Sencha..", unless no interest, at ideally this mtg else soon, I'LL MINI-PRESENT (talk ~15min as interest,w/o slides but give Google Spreadsheets for reference) on my recent semi-exhaustive research on DATABASES http://1.JotHere.com/MR1OU2 (just "Request access") That TRULY SCALE (which I define as unlimited-masters(as in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mu... ) so AP so only-Eventual Consistency) esp the current apparent best: CouchDB (row MR1QPY,also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Co... ) which is internally coded in our beloved JavaScript!(including JSON data),+Couch's many variants including hosting(as Cloudant,Couchbase,PouchDB &more) +its ability of "couchapp" applications (data AND APP all stored in & served by database; potentially best Kanso( http://1.JotHere.com/MUKHOL row MUPZJY aka http://Kan.so )),& solicit feedback(Reply below,&at mtg :-), esp "Any BETTER systems?":-)

      *This thread's URL: http://meetup.com/OC-...
*This my off-the-cuff talk seemed to go rather well, &well-received including new&seemingly-useful to my nice audience of 3 coders, incl:
**the CAP theorem, and how it classified other DBs, including how it put Apache CouchDB notably ahead, showing it truly scale-able (for many writers), while dramatically simpler to learn and develop for than say Apache HADOP while keeping seemingly the power of
**MapReduce, which I also introduced, along with
      **the other NoSQL key concepts.
*So about next week I presented this talk (actually an extended version) again a ~3x larger audience of our OCPython http://meetup.com/Ora... which also went well, and folks asked me for the sides(websites) presented so I've now written it up: http://meetup.com/OCP... -Enjoy!
