JavaScript 101 and Object-Oriented JavaScript

  • February 20, 2014 · 7:00 PM

For this month, the OC Dev and OC Sencha groups will be joining forces!

Gary Temme and Dave Aguilar from the OC Dev group have volunteered to present on JavaScript 101. If time permits, I will also do a short session on best practices for organizing JavaScript using object-oriented principles.

JavaScript 101

Modern web and mobile applications rely heavily on JavaScript and many of the JS frameworks. How you write your script, and how you integrate frameworks can lead to great success, miserable failures, and hard to find bugs due to the unexpected behaviors within JavaScript. We will be presenting a compilation of the many known, and some not so known issues around JS.

====================================

Please notify Mike Merchant, your OC Sencha organizer, if you are interested in presenting. It doesn't have to be on Sencha. The topic could be anything related to web and mobile app development, JavaScript, frameworks, cross-platform app development, etc.

    I have a feeling this live video cast tomorrow might retouch on what Mike presented about object oriented JavaScript and prototype inheritance. http://oreillynet.com/pub/e/300...

    Great meetup! Gary, what are the titles of the 2 Manning Javascript books you had at the meetup?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
